apperception, communication and interpretation
As soon as two people sense each other, they are communicating. How can we translate this phenomenon into the representation of a product?
„We can’t not communicate.“ Paul Watzlawick
Watzlawick understands any act as an act of communication. As “acting” does not have an antonym, and as it is impossible, as a consequence, not to act, it is, thus, impossible not to communicate. Everything that is shown or presented or that is not shown or presented, will communicate with the viewers and it will be interpreted by them.
Is there any neutral way of presentation under these circumstances? How can we minimize a given presentation, to concentrate our attention on the essence of it? An analysis of the “meta-communicative axiom” with respect to the presentation of industrially made products.
